I was back at my favorite neighborhood market Bi-Rite, picking up some Blue Bottle coffee, when I realized that it would be nice to pick up a bottle of red wine as well. I wanted something on the cheaper side of things, and perused the wine specials for the week.
I came across this bottle, which was priced at a cheap and cheerful $10.99. It’s a bend of zinfandel, carignane, and petite syrah, most of which seems to be sourced from Lodi. It’s produced by Tierra Divina Vineyards, which you can read more about here.
Overall, I enjoyed this wine. Nothing really outstanding or unusual to note, but its a an easy drinking, full bodied red that would pairs well with grilled meats, burgers or pizza. Nice hints of spice, raisin, and ripe berries and a great deal at $11.
